CORNANAFF Ordnance Survey Name Book entry of 1836

The property  of Em.  Huston. It contains 261a.  2r. 36p. statute  measure

including 2a. 2r. 3p. of water and 29 acres of bog. Farms are from 1 to 10 acres and

produce oats, barley, potatoes and flax. Land is let at 20s. per acre. It contains 2 1/2

carvaghs which  pay £1.10s.10d. per carvagh Co. Cess.   According to the census of

1831 there were 63  males and 42 females in it. There is a trig, station in the N. side

of the townland  608 feet above low water. There is an ancient fort in the W. side of

the townland  which  is planted.
